Today has already been too full for me to be concentrating on work. Jess and I meandered around the tidal basin amidst hundreds of people making the same awkward pose with the cherry blossoms. They sort of grabbed a branch with one arm and pulled it behind their head. I'm not sure why everyone thought this pose would make for such a great shot but it was sort of horrifying and hilarious to realize that everyone, no matter what ethnicity or cultural background, is the same on some fundamental level.
Neither Jess or I brought a camera, which I'm o.k. with because, honestly, it was just nice to enjoy being with her on a bright blue day, with the cool air coming off the tidal basin and the light filtering through the cherry blossoms. It didn't really matter how many awkward, bustling tourist there were. It actually made things better. There was a great energy to the place and different languages being thrown around everywhere, and of course it's always great when hundreds of tourists swarm a cross-walk so that, even if the traffic light is green, everyone crosses anyway.
And now here I sit by an open window in the architecture building hoping to accomplish enough to allow me to sleep tonight. I'll be posting some work from studio this semester as soon as I've decided that I'm satisfied with them, and maybe some stuff from last semester will show up too.

I really appreciate it.
